Congratulations to The Makati Science Vision for winning the following awards in the 2007 Department of Education-National Capital Region (DepEd-NCR) Secondary Schools Press Conference Group Contests conducted by the DepEd-NCR and the DepEd-NCR Secondary School Paper Advisers Association at the Saint Scholastica's Academy of Marikina, City of Marikina, on November 19 and 26 and December 3:

The Makati Science Vision is one of the only two school papers qualified in all categories for the 2008 National Schools Press Conference in Koronadal on February 18-22.
This morning, The Makati Science Vision also won the following awards in the 23rd Teodoro Valencia Search for 10 Outstanding Campus Journalists, 10 Outstanding Secondary School Papers, and 10 Outstanding Secondary School Paper Advisers in the NCR conducted by the Teodoro Valencia Foundation and the DepEd-NCR Secondary School Paper Advisers Association at the ParaƱaque National High School, ParaƱaque City, on January 21:

Fourth Place, Best Layout and Page Design
Fifth Placer, Best News Page
Sixth Place, Best Sports Page
10th Place, Best Features and Literary Page.
The Makati Science Vision did not make it in the Best Science Page, but its school paper adviser, Mr Alixander Haban Escote, was declared, for the second time, Outstanding School Paper Adviser in the NCR.
The Makati Science Vision received the following Valencia Awards in recent years:
Third Place, Best School Paper (2007)
Second Place, Best School Paper (2005)
Fourth Place, Best School Paper (2004)
Fifth Place, Best School Paper (2003).
On the other hand, John Edward Dominique Dela Paz Dalida, The Makati Science Vision editor in chief, topped the search for 10 Outstanding Campus Journalists in the NCR.
Dalida won the following awards, grabbing five out of six writing contests:

First Place, Copy Reading and Headline Writing Contest
First Place, Feature Writing Contest
Seventh Place, Science News Writing Contest
Eighth Place, Editorial Writing Contest
Ninth Place, Sports Writing Contest.
Dalida is the fourth Teodoro Valencia Outstanding Campus Journalist that The Makati Science Vision produced.
The other three outstanding campus journalists were Don Michael Acelar De Leon, Ateneo de Manila University communication student (2006); Ivy Mae Cleopaz Vitanzos, University of the Philippines (UP) medicine student (2002); and Anna-Marie San Marcelino Villa, University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman comparative literature graduate (2000).
Dalida will attend UP Diliman and will study psychology for his undergraduate degree.
