Because Jed and I will attend the 23rd Teodoro Valencia Awards for Outstanding Campus Journalists, Outstanding Secondary School Papers, and Outstanding Secondary School Paper Advisers in the National Capital Region at the ParaƱaque National High School, ParaƱaque City, tomorrow, 8 February 2008, I might not be able to attend the class of IV-Michael Faraday from 11:20 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. However, I might be able to attend the classes of IV-Sir Isaac Newton, 2:20 p.m.-3:20 p.m.; IV-Albert Einstein, 3:40 p.m.-4:40 p.m.; and IV-Enrico Fermi, 4:40 p.m.-5:40 p.m.
Nonetheless, what you will do in class is to revise and sharpen your PRE NEWS WRITING ACTIVITY NO. 2 by considering the suggestions of your peer editors and by consulting the Manual of Style and Usage for Scholastic Journalism and the "15 Rules on Clear and Effective Journalistic Writings."
It is hoped that, as of today, you have read WHAT IS GOOD WRITING? and SUGGESTED MATERIALS FOR PLAY REVIEWS, have visited http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2U8Okb16okE, and have watched the video posted by the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting
Tomorrow, I will post "What is News?" by Frank Luther Mott, which is Chapter 3 of The News in America published by the Harvard University Press in 1952. So, for those who have not started the readings yet, try to catch up. I will give a check up quiz on Tuesday, 12 February 2008, before we will discuss News and News Writing.
FOR PETER PAJANUSTAN TORRES: Get your papers on top of my table.
